We’ve been blessed with killer dance moves, serenaded by suave voices and given a bunch of head-scratching clues. However, there’s one thing The Masked Singer Australia 2022 is yet to share with fans: who is Mirrorball?
Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown was adamant she knew who the star was from the first lick of their performance of Xanadu.
As for the rest of the panel — well, they’ve come through with some pretty outlandish guesses that rival the names on viewers’ minds.
So, who could be sporting the Mirrorball get-up?
What Are Mirrorball’s Clues on The Masked Singer Australia?
Mirrorball is all but confirmed to be a singer all thanks to their INCREDIBLE voice.
However, we know full well that a voice isn’t enough to pick the correct celeb that’s under the masks. As such, the mystery performer did spill some more hints about their identity.
“I’m Mirrorball, I was born to do what I do and my parents knew it. But when the spotlight’s not on me, I don’t react. I’m proud and determined, close to grand in fact,” Mirrorball teased upon their first appearance.
“Even when everything turns to ashes, I go on unharmed.”
Since then, we’ve been privy to a number of visual clues, including a Mexican flag alongside ANOTHER flag that had the number 48 on it.
In addition, Mirrorball busted some typical disco moves and hung out by a piano that housed framed photos of John Travolta and Uma Thurman.
We Think Mirrorball Is a Renowned Pussycat Doll
While the guessing panel have suggested that Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Jade or Chloe Lattanzi could be under the mask, we think they are waaaaaay off the mark!
Like several fans of the hit singing competition, we think Mirrorball’s glitzy mask is hiding former Pussycat Dolls bandmate, Melody Thornton.
Why? Stick with us on this one.
The 37-year-old was born in 1984 — a year that when the last two numbers are flipped, references the “48” flag clue.
Similarly, the Mexican flag pays homage to Melody’s heritage, given that she is of Mexican-American descent.
What’s the Deal with the Uma Thurman and John Travolta Pics?
When Mirrorball was asked about the significance of the Uma Thurman and John Travolta pics, the masked singer gave a cryptic — but not impossible to decode — answer.
“I’m no stranger to the screen, big and small, where every day is a good time, that’s where you will find Mirrorball.”
Now, we’re pretty confident that this refers to the Pussycat Dolls being featured in the film Be Cool, which starred the abovementioned actors.
As for the “small screen”, Melody appeared on Dancing on Ice and the band’s talent search series, The Search for The Next Doll.
Finally, the jip about turning to ashes is most likely a nod to her single Phoenix Rising. Oh, and Melody was born in Phoenix, Arizona, too!
