Former AFL player Joel Patfull and fiancée Elle Ferguson have purchased a multi-million dollar home in the Byron hinterland, just months after quitting The Block.

The influencers spent $4 million on a 4810 square metre estate at Ewingsdale, just 10 minutes from Byron Bay.

The sprawling estate features two properties, which are marketed as having “minimalist bespoke modern architecture”, according to realestate.com.au.

According to us, it looks like a glorified shed. But each to their own!

While the hefty price tag proves they weren’t exactly desperate for The Block’s prize money, Elle and Joel will be sharing the estate with sister Lucie Ferguson.

The main three-bedroom house features “soaring ceilings” and polished concrete flooring. Yep, that’s a shed.

The second home is much the same, with another three bedrooms and open plan living.

The two homes were built in 2017 by vendors, who had paid $599,000 for the block of land in 2016. Gotta love that Byron price spike!

Why Did Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull Leave The Block?

They made headlines in April after walking off The Block just two days into production.

Joel’s mother had suffered a fall and fractured her neck, with potential damage to her coccyx and wrist. The couple returned to Adelaide to be with her.

However, as reported in episode 197 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a crew member from The Block revealed Elle and Joel didn’t get “along with anyone”.

“They didn’t seem like they knew what they had signed up for,” the insider dished at the time.

The source also said Elle and Joel “weren’t happy with the site conditions” at the Gisborne location.

“I.e. the toilet paper, food, or any of the support around them, so they walked off for those reasons, but used the family thing to cover it up,” they claimed.
