Love Island Australia 2021 contestants Lexy Thornberry and Chris Graudins have revealed what really caused the demise of their controversial relationship.

The recoupling may have come to fruition well after the show wrapped up, but that didn’t stop fans from investing themselves into this new relationship — especially after Chris finished Love Island as runner-up alongside Zoe Clish, who also happened to be Lexy’s bestie.

On May 25, Lexy confirmed to So Dramatic! that she and Chris had broken up. Now, as reported in episode 194 of the So Dramatic! podcast, both parties have spilled what really went down.

According to riot officer Chris, there is “not really much” to the split.

“We just went our separate ways,” the 25-year-old said. “Not really much else to it.”

He then disclosed that he’s “just kinda healing” while “taking a mental health break at the moment”. Self-care, we love to see it!

Meanwhile, Lexy had a bit more of an explanation for the relationship breakdown, indicating that there was a third party involved: the public.

“It was a case of way too much public involvement,” the 21-year-old confessed. “It was all negative and basically the pressure ended up getting to us both in the end.”

She added: “[It] pretty much killed every last spark of romance we ever might have had towards each other.” Brutal!

Since their breakup, the pair have removed all traces of their coupling from Instagram, even going as far as to block each other.

Has Love Island‘s Lexy Already Moved On With Someone New?

Following her split from Chris, rumours swirled that Lexy had already moved on with a boxer by the name of David Nyika after the pair shared some content together on the ‘gram.

However, the Love Island bombshell confessed that it’s “not true”.

“My dad is a boxing coach and he is coaching David at the moment while he’s fighting in Australia,” she said, “We just train together.”
