After three of The Masked Singer Australia judges quit the series, fans have been wondering who TF will join Dave Hughes on the panel for 2022.
Now, after much speculation, the brand new judging panel for The Masked Singer Australia has been announced.
On June 9, the official TMS Instagram account announced the new panellists, much to the delight of fans.
“We’re never short of surprises, so we’ve decided to give you three!” the post read alongside an image of the new stars. “Let’s hear it for our new panelists! [sic].”
Taking to their personal accounts, the impending judges expressed their excitement for their new roles.
“I am so thrilled to be joining this incredible panel of judges,” Abbie told her fans. “What an absolute honour.”
Meanwhile, Mel B said she can’t wait for the fun to kick off so she can begin “sniffing out all the clues”.
Chrissie added that her “excitement over this one has been hard to mask”. LOL — we’re a sucker for a pun.
“I am SO THRILLED to be joining this stellar judging panel for the new season of the most delightfully bonkers show on TV,” the current The Project panellist penned.
Mel B and Abbie Chatfield Were Top Picks As to Who Would Be a New Judge On The Masked Singer Australia
The executive producer of Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick has hinted that if you wanna be his lover, you better get a gig on The Masked Singer!
Yep, Leon claimed on June 8 that the Mel B (AKA Scary Spice) will be joining the hit singing competition.
“You’ll see a Spice Girl, it’ll be Scary Spice,” he dished. “And if they are smart, they’ll also get Emma Bunton.”
Mel B and Emma, who is well-known as Baby Spice, recently found popularity again on the most recent season of Netflix’s The Circle.
Leon also placed his money on reality TV fan favourite Abbie Chatfield to head up the new season, after the Herald Sun reported her potential involvement in the Network Ten series.
What Else Did Dave Hughes Say About the New Judges?
Hughesy recently shared some piping hot tea about who will be joining him during his radio show, 2DayFM’s Hughsey, Ed & Erin.
Speaking to his co-hosts Erin Molan and Ed Cavalee, he revealed who would replace his co-stars.
“[There’s] going to be international superstars! Yes, more than one! It will be a game-changer,” Hughesy said of the new judges.
Who Else Could Be a Judge On The Masked Singer Australia 2022?
After nabbing Y2K icon Lindsay Lohan for the first season, there’s no telling who Ten managed to scrape up this time.
There are plenty of possibilities, including the return of the Freaky Friday star.
The inaugural winner Cody Simpson might be an Aussie, but he has a massive international fanbase. Could he be ready to act as a judge whenever he has spare time out of the Olympic swimming pool?
The US judging panel includes comedian Ken Jeong, actress Jennifer McCarthy-Wahlberg, pop songstress Nicole Scherzinger and singer Robin Thicke. An American judge might create some Blurred Lines between the two shows!
Or, could it be one of the numerous international stars who have settled down in Australia. Is Zac Efron ready to relive his High School Musical days?
Maybe Ten are keen to keep it in the family, with Dannii’s sister Kylie Minogue. She’s basically a Brit these days, right?
And while Abbie Chatfield isn’t exactly an international household name, the Aussie reality star quickly made it to the top of the list of possible replacements.
Hughsey reckoned the big reveal was set to be announced later this week.
