A fourth leading man was all but confirmed to be starring in The Bachelor Australia 2023, however, when the official announcement was made, only three Bachies were revealed. So, where is Mystery Man #4?
As first reported in episode 183 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the franchise is set for a twist of seismic proportions with this new format.
“Word is that there is more than one bloke to fight over this year,” the source dished. “The format is severely changed and there may be as many as two, maybe even four Bachelors this series.”
So Dramatic! then exclusively revealed that Felix Von Hofe, Thomas Malucelli and Jedidiah “Jed” McIntosh were cast for the upcoming series.
Adding more fuel to the fire, former Bachelor 2019 winner Chelsie McLeod teased online that there was “still another one” yet to be announced!
Naturally, you can imagine our shock when the *official* announcement was made on The Project on Monday night, and only THREE blokes were to be seen!
So, WTF is going on?
Sources Confirm a Fourth Bachelor Was On the Cards for 2023
As discussed in episode 186 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one source confirmed after the official announcement that there were “definitely” supposed to be four Bachelors.
“I’m shocked they announced three only,” they said. “There was always definitely going to be four… I don’t know where the fourth one is and why they haven’t included him?”
The insider then added that Network Ten’s “plan” was to wait until each Bachelor had been “papped” and then “officially introduce them once the cat was out of the bag”. Hmmm, we wonder what changed?
A second source then said they knew for certain that a fourth Bachelor had been cast.
“I know there was a fourth one too because I know a girl who went on a date with one of the Bachelors in WA and it was none of these guys,” they confessed.
Even Married at First Sight New Zealand groom Samuel Levi (who previously weighed in on the topic) hinted on Instagram that another man is on his way into the mansion.
“Hands down a plot twist is certainly going to come for sure.”
What on earth could possibly be in store? An intruder Bachelor partway through the season? A surprise Bachie on night one? The possibilities are endless!
Chelsie McLeod and Samuel Levi Let Slip About the Fourth Bachelor
Now, The Bachelor 2019 winner Chelsie let slip that there is “another one” yet to be announced!
In response to a recent post announcing Jed’s appointment as a Bachelor, Samuel tagged Chelsie, musing that she knew the budding reality star.
“Peek a boo!” Samuel penned. “Look who it is. Some one you know 😂👀 [sic].”
“Tehe!!! And still another one not on the list yet 😏,” Chelsie teased. Ummmm, something tells us she knows something we don’t!
Scrolling back on the ‘gram, it seems the pair were previously alerting us to the possibility of multiple Bachelors, too!
“I believe he is “1” of the bachelors,” Samuel wrote underneath an image of Felix, to which Chelsie responded with winky-face emojis.
