The Bachelor Australia 2023 is introducing the “Fantasy Suite”, which means the show’s about to get a whole lot hornier than making out on a beach.
For those who don’t watch the US version of the series, the Fantasy Suite is an OVERNIGHT date between the Bachie and their suitors.
While the sleepovers do happen, these dates don’t get filmed because they can get quite steamy (and some even do “The Deed”). Of course, this is cause for a lot of mystery and drama A.K.A exactly what the Aussie franchise needs to pry itself from its grave…
As revealed in episode 183 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one source spilled the tea about the new format.
“My bestie is auditioning for Bachelor and has made it through to the next round,” they explained. “Best news, apparently this year there will be fantasy suites.”
They also revealed her friend was “probed” about her “sex life” by producers during her audition.
Oh. My. GAWD. Finally, something to get us excited to watch The Bachelor this year!
So, how do the Fantasy Suites work?
In episode 238 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it was later revealed that the Fantasy Suite isn’t just on offer for the last women standing.
One source told host Megan Pustetto: “All the women have the option to sleep with the Bachelors if you both consent.
“Osher also made this announcement to the group during the first group date,” they continued.
“You then go up to the Bach pad and do it if you want.” WTAF?!
“Basically, how it works is that they will film the couple going into a room and then film the door being shut,” an insider explained.
“The rest will be up to the audience’s imagination.”
The source also reiterated the contestants are NOT filmed “getting intimate”.
What Else Do You Need to Know About The Bachelor Fantasy Suite?
The Fantasy Suite has played a pivotal role in the outcome of both the US Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons.
Why? Because the Bachie typically visits the Fantasy Suite with each of their final three suitors.
While many stars of the show have stayed relatively mum on what goes on behind closed doors, some haven’t been able to keep their canoodling to themselves. Naturally, this causes a sh*t ton of beef, especially when a Bachelor reveals they slept with two-out-of-three of their final suitors.
In season 26 of The Bachelor, Clayton Echard revealed he was in love with his top three ladies: Susie Evans, Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey.
However, sh*t went DOWN when Clayton confessed to his first choice, Susie, that while they weren’t intimate during the Fantasy Suite date, he did get down and dirty with Rachel and Gabby, respectively.
Not being able to get past this, Susie walked out on the Bachelor.
Season 16 winner Courtney Robertson also spilled some tea about the Fantasy Suite in her book, I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain.
According to the star, the Fantasy Suite is full of a variety of things, bar one very important item: condoms. Which seems soooo bizarre (not to mention irresponsible) considering there’s a VERY high chance the Bach and their suitors will have sex.
“I didn’t realize how big of a deal that was when we wrote the book!” Courtney later told Radar Online. “Everyone gets tested before the show and I was on the pill. Maybe we were a little bit too in the moment.
“If I had known I was the last one [to get a Fantasy Suite date], I would have definitely thought about it more.”
