Guy Sebastian‘s hefty performance fees have been unveiled as his long-serving talent manager Titus Day appeared in court in Sydney on Wednesday.

Day is currently facing trial for allegedly embezzling over $900,000 from his former client.

During the trial, the amounts Sebastian was paid for various appearances were revealed, with the largest sum totalling $494,360. The singer was paid the almost half-a-million-dollar fee to support Taylor Swift during the Australian leg of her 2013 The Red Tour.

Now, records have revealed that The Voice Australia judge received plenty more jaw-dropping payments across his career.

In 2017 alone, the musician received $54,341 to sing at a Jakarta wedding and another $10,000 for a Sydney ceremony. Further, he was paid a $66,000 lump sum to appear at a McDonald’s conference. Later that year retailer Harvey Norman shelled out $33,000 for a performance.

It was also revealed that the Australian Idol winner was paid $49,114.62 to sing at Allianz Stadium during the British and Irish Lions rugby club’s Aussie tour in 2013.

His YUGE paydays have allowed the muso to support his family — several members of whom are set to testify against Day during the trial — and purchase a stunning architecturally designed home in Sydney’s Maroubra.

Why Is Guy Sebastian’s Former Manager, Titus Day, On Trial?

Day — who served as Sebastian’s agent between 2013 and 2020 — is currently facing 50 charges of embezzlement as a clerk or servant, plus 50 counts of stealing. He has pleaded not guilty to all counts.

The charges are in relation to over $900,000 of missing performance fees and royalties that Day allegedly received on Sebastian’s behalf over the course of seven years.

The Crown has claimed that Day kept the portions of money for himself, rather than forwarding it to his client.

Sebastian is expected to give evidence against his former manager at the trial.

The singer reportedly found “anomalies” in his financial records, after having terminated his contract with Day in 2017. He launched a civil claim against him the following year. The talent manager was later arrested in July 2020.

This trial — which began on May 3 — is ongoing and expected to last for five weeks.

Day also previously represented reality TV royalty Sophie Monk and Grant Denyer.
