Love Island Australia host and icon Sophie Monk found her happily ever after when she “eloped-ish” with her new husband, and while it was a simply STUNNING affair, her new hubby Joshua Gross shed a few tears.
Speaking to Stellar Magazine about their intimate NSW wedding, Joshua admitted that he cried after seeing his wife walk down the aisle.
“That reveal was just something I couldn’t have even anticipated. I started crying as soon as I saw her, which I didn’t plan on at all. But yeah, it hit me hard. It really did,” he said. Awwwww!
“When Josh walked in and cried, it just made me cry because I love him so much, and I was like, ‘Oh I can’t cry, my eyes, my make up – we have to get the photo,” Sophie added.
“It was almost like when I first met him on the aeroplane. It reminded me of all that. It was just beautiful. And I could see he loved me in his eyes. I’m so lucky.”
While the pair looked absolutely INCREDIBLE, there was another star of the show. Their labrador pup Bluey!

Styled by Natalie De Martin, Sophie wed in two stunning gowns by Aussie celeb faves J’Aton Couture — giving the designers just two weeks notice!
The first was a fitted ivory gown with a corset-structured top, sweetheart neckline, long train and a dazzling leg split, while the other was an opaque dress full of sparkles.
Sophie opted for some STUNNING Aquazzuro shoes and sapphire and diamond earrings by Cerrone jewellers.
Sophie Monk Shocked Fans With Her Wedding Announcement
Sophie and Joshua stunned their fans with an announcement about the nuptials on April 2, revealing they had secretly married a month earlier.
“I HAVE A HUBBY! We eloped-ish at home. I can’t believe I met him on a plane! It’s crazy. Best flight of my life! I really do believe everything happens for a reason. I love you Joshua Gross. Thanks for putting up with how messy, disorganised and lazy I am,” the former Bachelorette Australia star wrote on Instagram.
“You’re my best friend in the world and you are welcome for how hilarious my jokes are and how I absolutely smash you in Xbox F1! We’re both lucky.”
Joshua then posted his own photograph with a very simple and divine caption.
“Sophie, I love you. Now and forever. 💍” OUR HEARTS!
Australian Celebrities React to the News of Sophie and Joshua’s Wedding
While the country were thrilled for our girl, the comments section lit up with congratulations for the happy pair.
“Ah babe. You look so beautiful. Glad you did it just you two. So romantic ❤️❤️❤️ [sic],” Sophie’s bestie Jackie “Jackie O” Henderson wrote, while epic talent Tones and I said:
“Weird I wasn’t invited but I’ll look past it 😂 you are so beautiful and you both deserve so much happiness!” Lol, we’re sad we weren’t invited too!
MasterChef Australia’s Poh Ling Yeow also offered her congratulations.
“Holy shizen howsen, woman! Congrats to u both 👏♥️💕,” as did another Bachelorette, Angie Kent.
“❤️❤️❤️ amazing! And you look so sensational and most importantly SO happy. Lots of Love to you beautiful lady xxx [sic]”
Sophie announced her engagement in January 2022 after getting engaged on Christmas day 2021.
