It’s the glittery all moving and shaking dancing spectacular and, as Dancing with the Stars Australia continues, it adds more fabulous winners to its (very) long list of victors.
Some of Australia’s most famous (and infamous) faces, including Chris Hemsworth, Bec Cartwright, Johnny Ruffo, Ada Nicodemou, Luke Jacobz, Samuel Johnson and Schappelle Corby have all donned their sparkly best in hopes to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.
And in 2023, Dancing with the Stars is back with Sonia Kruger and Daryl Somers once again at the helm.
Stars in the likes of The Bachelor‘s Laura Byrne, Olympian James Magnussen, former MasterChef judge Matt Preston and singer Paulini are all battling it out on the dancefloor to take out the win.
In the past, there have been 19 winners over (nearly) two decades.
So, while we wait to see who wins in 2023, here are all the past winners of Dancing with the Stars Australia.
Bec Cartwright – 2004
Former Home and Away star, Bec Cartwright, won the very first season of DWTS alongside dance partner Mike Mizner.
They beat out Pauline Hanson and her pro dancer, Salvatore Vecchio.
Tom Williams – 2005
TV personality, Tom Williams, and pro-dancer Kym Johnson danced their way to glory in 2005, beating out former NRL player Ian Roberts and his partner, Natalie Lowe.
Ada Nicodemou – 2005 (Round Two)
Home and Away star, Ada Nicodemou, won the coveted mirror-ball trophy with a very baby-faced Aric Yegudkin. They would later reprise their partnership in 2021!
The pair beat out newsreader Chris Bath and her dance partner, Trenton Shipley.
Grant Denyer – 2006
In 2006, fan-fave Grant Denyer won DWTS and the hearts of Australia with dance partner, Amanda Garner. He would then go on to host the series while it was on Network Ten.
They beat out professional boxer, Kostya Tszyu and his dance partner, Luda Kroitor!
Anthony Koutoufides — 2006 (Round Two)
In the second season of 2006, former AFL player Anthony Koutoufides and dance partner Natalie Lowe beat out chess player Arianne Caoili and her partner, Carmello Pizzino.
Kate Ceberano – 2007
In 2007, singer Kate Ceberano won the series with her dance-partner John-Paul Collins. She beat out TV and radio personality, Fifi Box and her partner, Paul Green.
Bridie Carter — 2007 (Round Two)
McLeod’s Daughters‘ actor, Bridie Carter danced her heart out all season to win the second season of 2007. She and her dance partner Craig Monley beat out comedian, actor and extraordinary painter Anh Do and his partner, Luda Kroitor.
Luke Jacobz – 2008
In 2008, TV personality and actor, Luke Jacobz and his partner Luda won not only the mirror-ball trophy but each other’s hearts. The pair dated for two years post-show!
Luke and Luda beat out boxer Danny Green and his partner Natalie Lowe.
Adam Brand — 2009
In 2009, another relationship blossomed between winners Adam Brand and his pro-dance partner Jade Hatcher. The pair even married and moved to Nashville, even though he was 19 years her senior! They split a few years later.
As for DWTS, they beat out journalist Matt White and his partner Ash-Leigh Hunter.
Rob Palmer — 2010
Better Homes and Gardens personality Rob Palmer shocked audiences when he proved he could actually dance, winning him the 2010 trophy with partner Alana Patience.
They beat out singer (and ex-wife of Kyle Sandilands) Tamara Jaber and her dance partner, Carmelo.
Manu Feildel — 2011
In 2011, a young Manu Feildel took home the top prize alongside partner Alana. They beat out model Hayley Bracken and her pro-dancer, Aric.
Johnny Ruffo — 2012
A very talented Johnny Ruffo won DWTS 2012 with dance partner, Luda — who, by the way, seems to be a good luck charm! They beat out actress and singer, Danielle Spencer and her partner, Damian Whitewood.
Cosentino — 2013
Magician Cosentino pulled off his greatest trick of all — winning DWTS with partner Jessica Raffa in 2013. They beat out Home and Away starlet Rhiannon Fish, who was paired with Aric.
David Rodan — 2014
Former AFL player, David Rodan, took home the top gong alongside his dance partner Melanie Hooper.
In the 2014 season, the couple beat out Home and Away mainstay Lynne McGranger and her partner, Carmelo.
Emma Freedman — 2014
At the time, TV host and radio personality, Emma Freedman, was the highest-scoring celebrity of the fourteen seasons before her. She and Aric won the trophy and rightly so!
They beat out Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham and his dance partner, Marsha Belash.
Samuel Johnson — 2019
Five years after the show had wrapped, Network Ten took the reigns of Dancing with the Stars. This new iteration saw Love Your Sister campaigner and actor Samuel Johnson take home the mirror-ball trophy with dance partner, Jorja Freeman.
They beat out Courtney Act and Joshua Keefe.
Celia Paquola — 2020
In 2020, Celia Paquola proved she could use more than her funny bone after winning DWTS season 17! Alongside partner Jarryd Byrne, Celia beat out Christian Wilkins and his dance partner, Lily Cornish.
Luke Jacobz — 2021
In 2021, Luke became a Dancing with the Stars Australia winner once again when he competed in the Channel 7 All-Stars iteration. The win came 13 years after his first victory and he and partner Jorja beat out Bec Hewitt and her OG partner, Craig.
Grant Denyer – 2022
16 years after his first win, Grant took home the sought-after mirrorball trophy once again in the 2022 All Stars grand final.
The TV, radio and podcast host was paired with Lily, beating out fellow returnees Courtney Act, David Rodan, Deni Hines and Ricki-Lee Coulter, plus newcomer Kris Smith.
