It wouldn’t be a Married at First Sight Australia season without a cheating scandal and of course, Carolina Santos and Daniel Holmes delivered that in spades — however, they weren’t the re-coupling the producers has in mind!
As reported in episode 163 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it turns out they were hoping that Brent Vitiello and Ella Ding would swap partners!
“Producers went into the season wanting Brent and Ella to potentially cheat that’s why they mismatched them with Tamara [Djordevic] and Mitch [Eynaud],” a production source said.
“They thought if they gave them such horrible partners, it might force them to look elsewhere for support.” Ooft!
According to the insider, Brent’s producer would often ask him questions about Ella, like: “Do you rate Ella, she’s pretty nice,” to gauge if there was anything there between them.
“Brent is too respectful to even consider another woman when he was married to Tamara,” they added. “Ella’s producer also asked her about Brent a few times when things with Mitch weren’t going well.”
Unfortunately, the swap never gained any steam because Carolina and Daniel swooped in. TBH, we know who we would have preferred!
Brent Vitiello Denies “Cheating” With Ella Ding AFTER the Married at First Sight Experiment
Fans were excited when rumours began to swirl that Brent and Ella had got together after filming wrapped.
However, Sydney-based restaurant manager Brent cleared up the rumours.
Speaking to host Megan Pustetto in episode 159 of the So Dramatic! podcast‘s AFTERMAFS series, the Sydneysider reiterated that he and Ella are NOT dating IRL. Well, it’s fair game then, ladies!
The gorgeous groom spilled: “Me and Ella are really close now – but no, not like that. We have not done anything like that.”
“We just we just met on common ground and we just became really close,” he continued.
Brent added that he and Ella “confided in each other, spoke a lot and got along really well outside of [the experiment],” and that the pair “always give each other great advice”.
Meanwhile, Tamara and Mitch have been spotted on numerous occasions, so maybe the producers were right after all!
