Married at First Sight Australia’s Ella Ding has defended Domenica Calarco after the latest HECTIC dinner party.

During an interview with HIT FM’s Maz and Lakey, the reality star revealed she was “astonished” at how Olivia Frazer and the other brides, in particular, handled the situation.

“After the incident at the retreat, all the women were like, ‘I wish I spoke up’. They all said that to me,” Ella revealed to co-hosts Maz Compton and Danny Lakey.

“That situation at the dinner party, that was their time to shine and again no one came forward before the dinner party. No one texted her. It was really just the way the group had handled it. That was probably what was most disappointing. No one really had her back again.”

As we saw during the episode, the entire cast had seen the OnlyFans photograph and had known about it “for at least four days”.

“It was pretty clear it was gossip because everyone had seen it but me. There was obviously a reason that everyone had seen it but me,” she said.

What Does Married at First Sight’s Ella Ding Think About Olivia Frazer?

Perpetually #TeamDomenica, Ella was amazed at Olivia’s behaviours, especially watching it back with the rest of the country.

“I’ve just never met or seen — I’ve known a lot of women in my life — and honestly? It’s astonishing,” she said of the student-teacher, before later adding: “It must be exhausting being Olivia. It’s easier to be nice!”

Maz asked Ella if it would be better for a counsellor to get both women in a room and teach them how to treat other women, however, Ella came to her friend’s defence.

“Domenica can get along with a lot of women and she does own her stuff and she does apologise when she’s wrong and takes accountability,” she said. “But Olivia has only just continued — in the season, you’ll see throughout — she just continues to find things.

“She said this herself, she holds grudges with people in pre-school. This isn’t on Dom. She’s tried to take that step forward. She says hi, she does everything that she’s comfortable with but Olivia just continues to do the snide comments – like, ‘if you go missing we won’t send a search party out.”

Ella Feels That “Dropping the Bomb” at the MAFS Dinner Party was “Immature”

During the episode, many of the women expressed that they didn’t know how to approach the subject, however, Ella had some words for them.

“If you think dropping that bomb at a dinner party, do you think that’s going to make your relationship with Dom any stronger?” she asked. “If anything, it’s going to make Dom have even more against you.

“It was childish. It was immature and it was high school crap and like I said, we all have choices. We get to choose how we handle situations. The way people handled it at the dinner party is immature.”
