Former Bachelorette Angie Kent isn’t impressed with Abbie Chatfield‘s decision to debut her new relationship with Konrad Bien-Stephen the day before she appears on The Bachelorette Australia 2021 as Brooke Blurton’s best friend.

The It’s A Lot podcast host was clocked in a preview for Thursday night’s finale, appearing as one of Brooke’s nearest and dearest.
However, people are a little suss on the Bachie alum considering she only just debuted her new bae, and Brooke’s fourth-place suitor, Konrad hours beforehand.
Taking to Instagram stories, Angie appeared baffled as she watched the promo for the final Bachelorette episode.
“Watching tomorrow night’s Bachelorette finale preview,” she wrote. “Knowing what’s happened today in the media and what’s potentially to come in tomorrow night’s episode…”
She added: “Hey [Alexa] play ‘Torn’ by [Natalie] Imbruglia”, alongside a mindblown emoji.
Given Angie is currently recapping this season of The Bachelorette for Yahoo, we’re guessing she’s going to have a lot of thoughts about this ‘lil scenario.
People Have Come To Abbie Chatfield and Konrad Bien-Stephen’s Defence
When Angie’s reaction to the finale preview was shared to the So Dramatic! podcast Instagram page, many Abbie fans also jumped to her defence.
“It’s not like it’s happening in real time though!” one user wrote. “Konrad has been booted by this point so who actually cares?
Another said: “I really don’t get it… Everyone found love, isn’t that great?”
Others suggested the timing shouldn’t matter considering Brooke has reportedly found love with someone else.
“Brooke was literally dating a zillion people,” someone said, while another confessed they don’t see the issue.
“Brooke chose someone else months ago… I don’t see what’s wrong here?”
People Have Slammed Abbie Chatfield Over The Timing of Her Konrad Debut
Whilst others were in agreeance with Angie that it was probably a more selfless act as Brooke’s best friend, to let her have her moment and wait until after the finale to flaunt her romance with Brooke’s ex.
Even Brooke herself seemed to agree, liking a very telling comment left by So Dramatic! podcast host Megan Pustetto.
Brooke’s The Bachelor 2018 co-star and close friend Alisha Aitken-Radburn also liked the comment, as well as 2020 winner Irena Srbinovska.
Other Bachie fans are of the same thinking.
“I don’t think there should have been a relationship post this week. Brooke’s finale is tomorrow,” one user wrote.
Another said: “Abbie could have waited, in respect to her friend.”
“Abbie doesn’t care about anyone but herself… And if I was Brooke Blurton then I’d go find a new best friend because best friends don’t do this to each other. She should have waited to hard launch next week after the finale,” another wrote.
Angie Kent’s Scathing Recap Of The Bachelorette
This isn’t the first time Angie has spoken out about the poor timing of Abbie and Konrad’s relationship announcements.
The pair’s romance became general knowledge after a very public pash at Byron Bay’s Beach Hotel several weeks ago. At the time, Konrad was still trying to win Brooke over on the show. He even admitted he was falling in love with her!!
Following the well-documented smooch, Angie voiced her opinion in her next recap of The Bachelorette.
“The sad fact now is that we know he won’t be the one at the end with Brooke (not unless he’s a cheater cheater pumpkin eater),” the 31-year-old penned. “Homeboy wanted his cake and to eat it too and was caught out publicly pash rashing our very own Bachie alumni Abbie Chatfield, who both know the drill.”
While she acknowledged that you gotta do what you gotta do in the dating world, Angie sympathised with Brooke.
“I guess I am a little more salty than the average punter because I know how much goes into this love safari experience,” she wrote. “You just want everyone involved to do their part and you know, perhaps not give away the ending at all,” she explained.
Brooke Blurton’s Initial Response To The New Relationship
While we totally ship Abbie and Konrad’s iconic relationship, Brooke was not happy with the publish pash.
As reported in episode 121 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it was revealed that the 2021 Bachelorette had some choice words to say — particularly because she and Abbie were friends!
“Brooke is really upset,” a close friend of the 26-year-old revealed. “She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She had no idea they even knew each other!”
According to our source, Brooke is angry because she recently spoke about how spoilers were to blame for the show’s low ratings.
“And now Abbie has gone and done this to her. She’s pissed!” OUCH!
