Over a week since coming clean about The Block “cheating scandal”, Tanya Guccione has suggested the show’s producers set-up the incident.
Yep, it truly is the cheating scandal that never dies.
Appearing on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday morning, the Melbourne mum chatted to the hosts about taking a photo of the show’s embargoed production schedule.
Tanya reiterated that she came across the schedule when going to the toilet in the “production house” while they were filming the series’ promos.
“When I came out of the bathroom, Josh [Packham] said ‘Have you seen the board?'”
It was then that 39-year-old went back to take a photo, which she claims the snap then “spread like wildfire.”
When Tanya was asked whether the production schedule being on display was “some sort of trap” set by producers, she admitted it’s a question she asks herself regularly.
“I often wonder why the heck they let me use that bathroom,” she explain. “Especially because I’m a bit of a rebel at heart.”
She added that the producers “can’t make you do anything”, but “they can definitely set things up as a trap.”
Tanya Thought The Block Cheating Scandal Was “Funny” To Begin With
The esteemed makeup artist admitted she didn’t think her role in The Block scandal was all that serious to begin with.
“I thought it was sort of clever and funny at the start,” she told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O.
When she realised there were real things at stake, she revealed that her mentality reverted to “deny at all costs”.
“Deny, deny, deny,” she said.
Did Tanya Fabricate The Messages From The “Anonymous Tradie”?
For weeks, Tanya maintained the pic of the schedule was sent to her by an anonymous tradie before twins Josh and Luke Packham revealed that she was the one to take the snap.
She even went as far as to show producers a screenshotted WhatsApp message threat with said tradie. But other Block contestants have rubbished the screenshot due to Tanya claiming it was from February 4… before the show even began filming.
Despite being asked twice by Jackie O whether she fabricated the WhatsApp messages, Tanya failed to give a straight answer.
Instead, she talked around the question, adding that the photo was shared with many builders across the series.
“It’s really funny because we had trades who had access to that photo, who were showing us… going ‘Hey, do you guys have this?'”
“Was the WhatsApp thing real though?” Jackie queried.
“There was a WhatsApp group that one of the builders had created… but again it’s a little bit of a ‘he said, she said’ [situation],” Tanya concluded.
Sigh. Will we ever learn the real truth behind the photo? Things aren’t looking likely!
