One of the major drawcards of SAS Australia is the celebrities by far and this year has not disappointed. From Bra Boy Koby Abberton and that cheating scandal to Sam Burgess admitting his affair, it seems that celebs are using the show for a shot at public redemption.

And now, according to Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald from Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa, two new celebs have thrown their hat into the ring and have been confirmed for next season.

“There’s been some names leaked for the new series, which are really really good. I can confirm two,” Fitzy revealed during his breakfast show on September 16.

According to the radio star, controversial Rugby League star and “bad boy” Willie Mason has been selected.

“I’ve been told he’s currently training really really hard getting smashed before he actually does the show,” Fitzy said. “Second one is Michael Clarke. Pup’s put his hand up. He’s locked in.” Ooh, juicy!

While Michael would be a hectic addition to the line-up — remember his highly publicised affair with his assistant and the whole Lara Worthington engagement ring saga? — Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli didn’t think his co-star’s information was correct.

“I don’t believe that, not buying that,” he said. “He was meant to be doing Celebrity Apprentice as well.”

Fitzy also named former NRL star turned boxer Sonny Bill Williams, saying he was currently in “negotiations” as well as former Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe and disgraced celebrity chef Pete Evans

While Thorpie would be a good watch, Sonny Bill and Pete need some serious reputation rehab so they seem like a good fit for a show like SAS Australia.

In fact, disgraced TV chef Pete has such a bad reputation that he was cast on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here in 2021, before being pulled after some serious public backlash.

Even though it could be super satisfying to see the DS tear these guys to shreds, we’d rather they didn’t get any airtime at all!
