For years, Australian Idol has provided laughter, tears and superstars en masse, and it’s no different when it comes to the 2025 season.

Yep, the fan-fave singing competition is gracing our screens again and follows a bunch of Australians hoping to sing their way to the top to become the next Idol.

With $100,000 in prize money and an exclusive recording package with Hive Sound Studios, the competition is bound to be as fierce as ever.

When is Australian Idol 2025 airing?

In December, the competition was slated to premiere on January 29.

However, it’s since been pushed back to February 2 and will air on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Who are the judges?

Keeping things consistent from the 2024 season, Australian Idol 2025 will see the return of Marcia Hines and Kyle Sandilands (AKA, judges from the OG series in the 2000s), plus Amy Shark.

Kyle told Channel 7 that he’s keen to hear a voice that “grabs [him] from the first note”.

Marcia is on the hunt for “a voice that can stand the test of time and appeals to Australia”, while Amy added that she’s keeping an eye out for “someone who has the ability to make me think of them on my drive home at the end of the day”.

Who hosts Australian Idol?

Australian Idol 2004 contestant Ricki-Lee Coulter and veteran TV presenter Scott Tweedie are returning to host this year.
