Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Sara Mesa has opened up about her “painful” recent breakup with her mystery boyfriend.

After splitting from her on-screen hubby Tim Calwell shortly after the MAFS Reunion, the 29-year-old confessed she had been “seeing someone for a few months” in a recent Instagram Q&A. However, she’s now stated it had since “ended.”

“I am open to dating right now but enjoying my own company until the right person comes along,” she added.

On September 16, the nutritionist revealed more details about her split on Instagram, telling her followers she forced herself to walk away.

“Had to leave a relationship that was hurting me more than making me happy,” the former bride wrote. “I’m currently trying to heal from this, and it’s been hard.”

Married at First Sight‘s Sara Mesa says she was ‘MANIPULATED’ and ‘GASLIT’ by her recent ex

Sara added that she hadn’t spoken much about her recent breakup because it’s still “fresh and painful”

“I was constantly manipulated, gaslit, lied to, cheated on, given minimal effort, boundaries pushed and treated with very little respect,” she penned. “The person I was dating wasn’t who I thought he was.”

Sara finished her post by urging her followers to put themselves first when dating.

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Walk away from someone who makes you feel like you’re hard to love,” she added.

“Maybe I’ll share more about my experience once I’m healed and ready.”

Married at First Sight‘s Sara Mesa says her body feels ‘so much better’ since split from ‘TERRIBLE’ ex

On September 21, Sara told her TikTok followers that her body had been feeling “so much better” since her breakup.

“I’m going through a breakup,” she told the camera. “It’s been really hard, because not only do I know he’s not the right person and a terrible person, it doesn’t make me miss him less.”

Despite feeling heartbroken, Sara admitted she realised “how well [she’d] been sleeping” since becoming single.

“[When I was with my ex] I was having the worst sleep,” she recalled. “I was tossing and turning all night and waking up exhausted. I thought it was because of work and being overwhelmed with everything I needed to do.

“Now that we’ve been broken up and I’ve been actually sleeping, I realised he was the problem.”

Sara then urged her followers to leave relationships that were causing them discomfort in their bodies.

“Our bodies know before our minds and hearts. So if you’re in a relationship right now, feeling more anxious than you are calm, and it’s causing you not to sleep, leave,” she said.

“I wasted too many months shoving all my feelings down because I really wanted it to be him, but my body was literally screaming to leave.”
