Samantha Armytage has been tipped to become the host of the all-new The Golden Bachelor Australia after she severed ties with Channel Seven.

In August, Samantha announced her decision to leave the network after 20 years, following a successful career as the host of multiple shows, including Sunrise and Farmer Wants a Wife.

According toTV Blackbox, Samantha’s contract officially expires in October. And now she’s rumoured to be penning a deal with Channel Nine.

It comes after Nine was revealed to be the home of the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor Australia.

And according to entertainment journalist Peter Ford, Samantha could be the right gal for the hosting gig.

“If I was a betting man I’d put money on @sam_armytage [as host],” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “She’s now a free agent after leaving 7 and has been clear she was interested in new opportunities.”

Samantha Armytage isn’t the only person up for The Golden Bachelor Australia

We’d LOVE to see Samantha act as wingwoman to a senior Bachie. However, industry insiders previously suggested Channel Seven darling Sonia Kruger for the role.

“The word on the street is that Sonia could reboot The Golden Bachelor on Channel Nine in 2025,” an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle in early September.

“Channel Nine loved working with Sonia and everyone would welcome her back with open arms.”

With Big Brother officially shelved for 2024, there is reportedly a “hole” in Sonia’s Seven contract.

“There is a real bidding war which will see two networks keen to lock her services down in the new year,” a source alleged.

But despite rumours there’s a bidding war for Sonia’s talents, it was reported that she will return for DWTS in 2025. Hmm…
