Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Lauren Dunn has called out a group of former AFL players who allegedly “made light” of her past experience with domestic abuse.

In August, Lauren took to Instagram to share that she was “subjected to years of nothing short of sheer terror” at the hands of a former partner.

“Multiple broken ribs, black eyes, bloodied lips, blood-shot eyes from being strangled until I was unconscious,” she detailed at the time.

Lauren told her followers on Instagram that she was speaking out against the unknown alleged abuser as he had started “blackmailing and threatening” her.

In September, the 32-year-old returned to her Instagram Story to call out those downplaying her experience.

“Have been made aware today about a group of ex-AFL players sitting around making light of my DV [domestic violence] situation,” she wrote.

“Not only is this absolutely appalling, but also very bold of some of these washed-up has-beens, considering the information I have been sitting on, that has come directly from women who have come to me with stories of their own experiences of DV with particular members of with WA club.”

Married at First Sight‘s Lauren Dunn calls on the AFL to take action

The former MAFS bride said she won’t be exposing the aforementioned footballers to protect their families.

“If I didn’t value the safety and privacy of the women and their children involved, I would expose every single one of these sh*t for brains halfwits,” Lauren penned.

She then called on the AFL to address its “rampant” issue of abusive players.

“Could be time for the AFL to do something about this rampant problem in their organisation,” she concluded.

Lauren’s call for action comes after punters criticised Channel Seven’s decision to hero former AFL star Ben Cousins on Dancing with the Stars following previous allegations of abuse.
