The Block 2024‘s Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey have confirmed they’re returning to the show despite their dramatic exit.
ICYMI: the engaged couple opted to quit the landmark 20th season of the renovation show in Week Five after admittedly struggling with their mental health.
Paige has since come out swinging against Nine for using her mental wellbeing as a “gross cash grab”, which is why fans were shocked when rumours surfaced about the duo returning to the show in later weeks.
Now, Jesse and Paige have confirmed they did film a cameo for The Block 2024 which will air towards the end of the season.
“Our sole reasoning for coming back was to support our cast and support our friends,” Jesse told Yahoo Lifestyle.
“They’ve just done 13 weeks of this, and we hadn’t seen them for seven weeks. We just really wanted to support them and come back and see them.”
He added that they also wanted to meet Maddy and Charlotte Harry, the sisters who took over House One when they left the show.
“We got to share a bit of their Block experience with them as well. We’re a House One team and we always still say we did this together,” Jesse concluded.
Paige Beechey denies being ‘tricked’ into returning to The Block
Despite her disdain for her portrayal on the show, Paige assured the outlet that she “definitely didn’t get tricked or coerced into coming back” to The Block.
“Nine wouldn’t make us do anything that we didn’t want to do,” she made clear. “I know, for me, it wasn’t easy going back. I was very on edge, I was very timid, and I was very nervous, for obvious reasons.”
Jesse and Paige’s comments come after a production insider said their return was a “sneaky tactic” by Nine to have them save face before the couple could watch their “edit”.
