The Married at First Sight Australia 2024 cast has been losing thousands of followers, making their careers as influencers “uncertain”.

Despite only getting their accounts back in May, this year’s brides and grooms have already seen a decline in followers.

According to data from analytics website Social Blade, even fan favourites such as Lauren Dunn and Lucinda Light have been losing followers, with the brides losing 1,590 and 4,440 respectively over the past 30 days at the time of writing.

On July 29, groom Richard Sauerman took to Instagram to joke that his followers were also declining.

“In January, I had 87 followers. In June I had 48,000 followers. Now I have 47,800 followers. Damn, I’m in decline,” he wrote in the captions.

However, per Yahoo Lifestyle, controversial groom Jack Dunkley is the only cast member still gaining hundreds of new followers per month. And go figure!

According to Social Blade data, he’s racked up 510 new fans in the past 30 days at the time of writing, which we can assume is due to launching his (or his friends) new business.

MAFS 2024 stars say their loss of followers isn’t impacting their brand deals

However, one participant told the outlet that their loss of followers wasn’t impacting their capacity to gain brand deals.

They also spilled that they were “earning more from media sponsorships” than their full-time job.

“I think it’s natural to lose some following,” they dished. “The people who only cared about the show will drop off, same with any show.”

It comes after sources told So Dramatic! that most cast members hadn’t made any money from social media post-show.
