An FBOY Island Australia 2024 star came out as gay to his female suitors during the show in a twist nobody saw coming.
The heterosexual dating show follows three women as they determine whether the 24 men they’re dating are ‘Nice Guys‘ or ‘FBOYs’.
However, during the fifth episode, when the ladies stalked the men on social media, they questioned whether intruder Nathan Giastis was there for the right reasons after noticing his TikTok was full of LGBTQIA+ hashtags and references to the gay community.

Nathan later admitted to Nicole Mitrov that he was “a gay FBOY” before convincing her to let him stick around so he could help the ladies detect which of the other men were FBOYS. And we think he’s a total ICON!
Why did ‘gay FBOY’ Nathan Giastis go on FBOY Island Australia?
Nathan told Yahoo Lifestyle that he was scouted for the show and was keen to shake things up.
“I would never see myself with a girl, but [I went on the show] to be the elephant in the room and play some twists along the way,” he said.
“There was a lot of doubt, especially being the first gay man on a straight dating show. But I just thought life is too short. Have some fun, put yourself out there, and enjoy what’s to come.”

Nathan also explained that he’s “surrounded by straight guys all the time” because he works as an electrician.
“The plan was just to be as low-key as possible because I couldn’t really be my true self,” he said.
He also found it easy to fit in on set, and it “wasn’t too daunting”.
“I was pretty calm and collected. I was always asked by producers: ‘Are you uncomfortable?’. Everything was chill, so being in that scenario was good,” he said.
Nathan explains why he didn’t wipe his social media before FBOY Island
Even though the social media stalking happens every season, Nathan confessed he wasn’t a previous fan of the show, so he didn’t wipe his accounts as much as he should’ve.
“I was told to remove some things from social media. But leading up to going onto the show, I was told [not to worry about it],” he dished. “When Abbie [Chatfield] walked in with the laptop, my heart sank.”
