Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2024‘s Krissy Smith revealed she’d be having a mastectomy, a surgery to treat and prevent breast cancer.
Krissy, who vied for the heart of Farmer Tom Boyer during this year’s stint of the long-running dating show, took to her Instagram Story to urge fans to “check [their] breasts”.
“Tomorrow starts the new chapter, the new shape and the new body I will have to grow to love,” the FWAW star penned alongside photos of herself.
“For 30 years this body has carried me through, however, tomorrow I will have a mastectomy of my right breast and a long road of reconstruction and self love will begin again.”
A mastectomy is a surgery to remove some, if not all, of the breast as a way to treat, or prevent, cancer.

Krissy then shed some light on the tumultuous experience it’s been in the lead-up to her surgery.
“No one can ever prepare you for the last three weeks I’ve had,” she confessed. “It has pulled me in every which way, and placed me here, trading a boob for my life.
“I loved my body, I still do, and will continue to keep reminding myself. Girls, if you can do anything, just check your breasts.”
Krissy concluded the post: “Much love and suck a d*ck cancer.”
