Married at First Sight Australia 2022‘s Domenica Calarco has been slammed for a “disrespectful” and “entitled” act during the Italian leg of her holiday.
After leaving a mental health retreat following the backlash from her since-cancelled podcast, Domenica has been enjoying a lavish trip to Europe.
However, fans have called out the reality star after she shared a video inside the Sistine Chapel in Italy’s Vatican City, which is famous for its strict no-photography policy.
“This is super disrespectful. I don’t understand why you’ve done this as such a proud Italian,” one fan commented, whilst a second wrote: “When they say no filming, but you do it anyway cause you know, you’re special.”
A third penned: “When I was there, it was stated that no photographs or videos were allowed. I respected their rules.”
Another netizen said Domenica’s behaviour was “absolutely disgusting”.
“There are rules for a reason. Just because you went on some trash show you think you’re above the law? You should be ashamed. Filthy behaviour,” they added.
Another chimed in, stating that Domenica was “self-entitled”.
“You think you’re better than everyone else who respects the rules,” they said. “If you want to be in the public eye, you open yourself up to being held accountable. Poor form.”
According to the official Sistine Chapel website, “taking pictures and filming videos in the Sistine Chapel is strictly prohibited.” However, people are allowed to “take pictures without flash inside the Vatican Museums.”
Married at First Sight’s Domenica Calarco admits to ‘hiding her phone’ so she could film inside the Sistine Chapel
In the comments section, Domenica confessed she “hid her phone in her bag” so she was able to capture footage inside the Sistine Chapel, despite it’s no-photography policy.
In response to the backlash, the 31-year-old justified that she wasn’t “filming with flash”, which is the “main reason they say don’t film”.
“The guard told me the reason they say no cameras is because it’d mean no one would move in there, and it’d be overwhelmingly busy,” she explained. But how does filming without flash equal respecting the no filming rule?
The Sistine Chapel’s no-photography policy is also due to religious reasons.
