Love Island Australia 2022‘s Mitch Eliot has defended his ex-girlfriend Phoebe Spiller against trolls following their shock breakup.
ICYMI: The couple announced on July 29 that they’d called it quits in statements on their Instagram Stories.
While Phoebe told fans they “wanted different things”, Mitch addressed his former bae, telling her they “need time to grow as [their] own people”.

He also expressed that he still loves Phoebe and “will always be backing” her, and he’s proven this to be true after hitting out at trolls criticising his ex.
In early August, Phoebe shared a video update about how she was faring following the breakup, which So Dramatic! reposted to their Instagram page.
In the comment section, one user expressed that the TikTok was “so weird”.
“Who films themselves crying… Looks for advice of TikTok. What a world!” they wrote.
Mitch quickly came to his ex’s defence, saying the user “wouldn’t understand”.
“We do things differently in this generation,” he clapped back. “How about you be more open-minded and less rude to a girl who is clearly upset?
“Spread a bit of kindness.”

Love Island‘s Phoebe Spiller says she ‘feels so alone’ following breakup
In her TikTok, which was filmed before she and Mitch announced they’d split, Phoebe admitted to holding off on sharing the news.
“If you’re seeing this, that means me and Mitch would have already announced our breakup to the world, which is terrifying,” she began, adding that revealing their split would make it “more real”.
“I keep going on Tiktok and trying to look for advice on how to deal with a breakup,” she explained. “It’s only been eight days. All I do is cry. It’s awful… This is the worst feeling ever, and I really hope that you guys can help me out.”
@phoebespiller Rewinding to day 8 ❤️🩹 I wasn’t sure if i would ever post this but as someone who tries to keep it real with you all, i feel like i’ve built a following where i can trust that you will all be here for me during this time. Sometimes it’s hard for me to go to my friends & family when im sad, especially when not everyone can relate to how i feel. So if you have gone through a breakup like this, please help me to move forward 🥺💌 hopefully i get back to a better headspace soon

Phoebe added that she’s really “thankful” for her supportive followers.
“Whenever I post this, if I ever do, please help me because I just feel like I can’t breathe,” she concluded.
“I feel so alone.”
