The Bachelor Australia 2021‘s Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston have opened up about their difficult pregnancy journey after announcing they’re expecting their first child.
On June 17, the couple shared a video on Instagram reacting to Holly’s positive pregnancy test before opening up about their struggles to fall pregnant.
“The moment our lives changed forever,” they wrote in the caption. “As the saying goes: ‘Nothing worth having comes easy’.”
The reality stars then confessed that their “positive result” wasn’t a “walk in the park”.
“Nothing could’ve prepared us for the lack of control, the pressure, the disappointment and overwhelming isolation that we felt,” they said.
The parents-to-be explained that every time they saw a pregnancy post online, it “stung” for them, despite how happy they “wanted to be for those on the receiving end”.
“Whilst we were struggling through this privately, we made a promise to ourselves that if / when we do eventually get pregnant, we will acknowledge on here that it wasn’t as easy as we had anticipated… in the hopes it might make some feel less alone,” they added.
“For those looking at this right now experiencing infertility or loss, we see you, and from the bottom of our hearts, we hope a little miracle comes your way, too.”
