FBOY Island Australia host Abbie Chatfield has hit back at claims that her new boyfriend, Adam Hyde, is “using her” for fame.

During the two-part June 3 episode of her It’s a Lot podcast, Abbie finally revealed she was dating Adam, one-half of the electronic music duo Peking Duk, after months of speculation.

Despite Abbie’s fans shipping the couple hard-core, several trolls have accused Adam, who’s very successful in his own right, we might add, of “using” The Bachelor breakout star for fame.

One netizen commented under a TikTok video of Abbie’s hard launch, claiming the musician went public with Abbie to promote his new EP, ‘JESTERMAN’.

“PR move of the century. This guy knows what he’s doing. He’s working hard to promote his new stuff,” the user wrote.

“I was listening to his music when I was 20 years old, lmao,” Abbie, 28, clapped back before pointing out that Adam has won several ARIA awards.

On June 8, Abbie also took to TikTok to clap back at a fan who claimed Adam was “love bombing” her after he paid for her IUD.

“I’ve known [Adam] for two years, I’ve been seeing him on and off throughout those two years, been friends during those two years, and we’ve been… officially dating again for three months,” the TV and radio personality started.

“I know this man, and him paying for an IUD isn’t love bombing. That is a considerate man who knows his role in contraception and is considerate of me.”

An IUD is a contraceptive device that’s placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy.

The podcast host then claimed she was “over” reading negative comments about her boyfriend.

“I don’t know if you’re jealous, bitter, or trying to think of a negative comment. But if you actually think this is love bombing, I’m genuinely worried for you,” she quipped.

Abbie finished the video by stating she was “concerned” about people calling Adam’s kind act “love bombing” and “gaslighting”.

“You’re taking away the weight of those words for actual abuse victims, and this is not love bombing. You saw a man be nice to me.” Say it louder for the people in the back!
