Married at First Sight Australia 2022‘s Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding’s futures as podcast hosts are “uncertain” as their followers and listeners plummet following recent backlash.
ICYMI: Domenica and Ella interviewed controversial MAFS couple Jack Dunkley and Tori Adams on their Sit With Us podcast in May.
However, fans were shocked when the self-proclaimed feminists sided with Jack after some of his awful behaviour, including telling Jonathan McCullough to put a “muzzle” on his wife, Lauren Dunn.
Despite issuing a “bullsh*t” apology, industry sources claim that the podcast duo may be on their way out.
Per Yahoo! Lifestyle, an insider from a leading digital network has claimed that Sit With Us is in danger.
“The long-term future of any podcast generating this much negative publicity whilst consistently losing downloads is uncertain at best. Once listeners start to leave, advertisers usually aren’t far behind,” they said.
The source also claimed that the pair needs to focus on “accountability, transparency and damage control PR” to “navigate” the situation. And based on their recent apology, it looks like they need a LOT more help.

Per Social Blade, Domenica has lost around 4,800 followers on Instagram since the problematic interview dropped on May 8. Ella, who’s remained less vocal amid the backlash, has lost around 2,600 at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, according to Triton’s Australian Podcast Ranker, Sit With Us was already on the decline, even before the most recent controversy.
In April, the podcast duo saw a 15 per cent decrease in downloads, with 84,319 downloads compared to 112,000 in March. It also dropped to number 131 on the Australian chart, while it sat at 123 in March.

The Sit With Us podcast has also received a swarm of negative reviews on Apple, with listeners expressing concerns over their “disgusting, uneducated, misogynistic, harmful, and offensive” content.
“Platforming misogyny by hosting abusers,” one review read.
“These two women have an absolute inability to take accountability for the attitudes they’re promoting even after they are called out publicly.”
Another read, “So-called ‘feminists’ who victim blame and tear other women down, serious ick from the past few episodes. Giving a platform to a misogynist who blames his behaviour on others is triggering for abuse survivors.
“Please educate yourselves and do better.”
Others said that Domenica and Ella don’t “deserve to have a platform” and are “awful role models” and they will not be supporting them moving forward.
Other listeners accused them of having “internalised misogyny” and being “mean girls”.
“A disgusting and damaging episode platforming a misogynist. Without the knowledge or ability to debate him. Instead, they agree with him. Please do better. You have a platform to discuss topics like this; therefore, you hold a responsibility,” another listener wrote.
