It’s been alleged that Denise Drysdale made a “secret deal” that ensured she was the first to leave I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2024.
While Denise debunked claims she and host Julia Morris had a long-standing feud, a new rumour has emerged about the beloved Aussie comedian.
Revealing that Denise has been asked to appear on I’m a Celebrity “every year and she always straight out said no”, one production insider said this changed when approached for the 2024 season.
“She didn’t want to do it, mainly because she didn’t want to put herself through all of that and be without her creature comforts for weeks on end,” the source told So Dramatic!.
“At 75 and with the incredibly successful career she’s had, she felt like she didn’t need to rough it out in the jungle for so long to prove anything.
“She was content with her career achievements and where she’s at in life. It really was that simple.”

The insider said that “producers were really set” on Denise being on I’m a Celebrity 2024.
As such, they “kept coming to her with new terms to try and get her to agree”.
“But she kept refusing,” they explained. “They then offered her a secret deal.
“She would leave first, meaning she would only be in the jungle for 2.5 weeks. But she still said no.”
So, producers came back to the TV presenter with “better terms”.
“[They] said, ‘What if you leave first and you go in late’. Meaning she would only be in the jungle for 11 days,” the insider revealed.
“Denise thought about it for a few days and finally agreed.”
