It’s been revealed that Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Timothy Smith and Lucinda Light had a “catastrophic” blow-up during Homestays Week.
Recent weeks in the experiment have seen Timothy open up to his TV wife, leading fans to root for the couple once again.
However, one participant has revealed that “Lucinda and Timothy ended during Homestays”.

“Their Homestays were catastrophic, to say the least,” they told So Dramatic! podcast host Megan Pustetto in episode 364.
According to the source, “Lucinda was a bit rude to Tim about his house”, where he lives alone — just the way he likes it!
“His house isn’t a mansion or anything showy, but Lucinda said she expected something bigger, so he felt a bit judged,” they revealed.
Meanwhile, Lucinda “lived in a shared house with four other people because she is a social person who loves being around others”.
“Basically, they just have very different lifestyles.”
However, this was just the tip of the iceberg during the pair’s Homestay experience.
Revealing that Timothy was “emotionally drained” from the experiment, he was already “at his wit’s end” by the time Homestays Week rolled around.
“The experiment was coming to an end, and he knew he was about to go back to the real world, where he would have to deal with all of the stuff with his family when he got home,” the insider explained.
“Not to mention, during Homestays, Tim’s friend’s dad was dying, and that brought up a lot of emotions for him.”

While the TV groom “wasn’t in the best mood”, Lucinda was extremely upbeat and “ready to party with friends and ramp it up for their final few days”.
When the duo came together for their final Homestays date, Timothy was “really depressed” due to his friend’s father passing away.
Apparently, the date lasted just EIGHT minutes because “Tim refused to keep filming”.
“Lucinda accused him of not trying and not being open with her,” the participant relayed. “Tim then exploded and blew up at her, saying she wasn’t reading the room, and he was over all of her positivity bullcrap.
“Then he said he ‘was done with this f*cking TV show’ and stormed off.”
Timothy also yelled at the camera crew and accused them of “pushing [ing] him to breaking point.”
“They agreed to let him go and not film anything else,” the source revealed, adding that Lucinda and Timothy were separated until they returned to Sydney.
While things were “eventually fine” between the couple after Timothy “apologised for his outburst“, their romantic relationship couldn’t be salvaged.
“They left at the next Commitment Ceremony and didn’t make it to the Final Vows,” their co-star concluded.
