Insiders have shed light on the unlikely friendship between Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Timothy Smith and Tristan Black.
It’s no secret that Timothy doesn’t mind getting fired up at his co-stars (read: Jack Dunkley, Jayden Eynaud and Ridge Barredo).
However, at the conclusion of the February 21 dinner party, we saw a rare moment of vulnerability between him and his fellow groom, Tristan.

As reported in episode 357 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Timothy and Tristan “were great friends during filming and are still very close to this day”.
“Timothy took Tristan under his wing and protected him as he saw a lot of himself in Tristan,’ one participant explained.
“Tristan opened up to Timothy in the first week and said he doesn’t like himself. Timothy really related with him because he felt the same about himself, and they really formed a close bond because of that and supported each other massively throughout the show.”
The source said the duo “really had each other’s backs” throughout MAFS as they felt they didn’t “fit in with the toxic boys’ club that formed among the other grooms”.
“You will see more of their beautiful friendship throughout the show,” the insider promised. And we can’t wait!
