It’s been revealed that Lauren Dunn refused to sign her contract until filming for Married at First Sight Australia 2024 was well underway.

As fans of the show will know, Nine is pretty keen on keeping the MAFS participants under lock and key with airtight contracts.

However, as revealed in episode 354 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Lauren played a bit of hardball with producers.

One production insider spilled to host Megan Pustetto that the 32-year-old “didn’t sign her MAFS contract until the morning of her wedding”.

“She hadn’t even signed her contract when she filmed the Hens’ party,” they revealed, adding that Lauren was hesitant to be on the show in the first place.

“Even up to the morning of her wedding, she was still not sure if she wanted to do it. She almost pulled out multiple times. She didn’t want to sign it in case she hated filming.”

Why Lauren Dunn ‘played hardball’ with Married at First Sight producers

The insider also explained that Lauren was also trying to negotiate the terms of her contract, which was another reason why she was holding off from signing anything.

“She was trying to get them to let her keep using her business Instagram account during the airing of the show as she needed it for work,” they said.

“She knew how badly they wanted her on the show so she was playing hardball and stalling and trying to get exemptions written into her contract.”

Lauren Dunn got a lawyer involved in Married at First Sight contract negotiations

The source even claimed Lauren “got a lawyer involved and everything”.

“She filmed the Hens’ party and her master interview and a few other things before she signed the contract. She didn’t care if she did the show or not,” they added.

“But in the end, they wouldn’t budge. And she was enjoying filming so she said, ‘F*ck it’ and signed.”

And thank God she did, otherwise we wouldn’t have got iconic lines like “Jesus and cleavage”!
