A Married at First Sight Australia 2024 bride’s father has requested that radio hosts don’t roast his daughter on air and oh, you sweet, naive man.

The doomed marriage experiment kicked off its mammoth 11th season on January 29, and fans have taken great pleasure in plonking down on the couch to make some *judgements* about the new cast.

Because, y’know, that’s what you do when people put their dignity aside for some hot 15 minutes of fame, right? Right.

Even Nova 96.9 icons Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald, Michael “Wippa” Wipfli and Kate Ritchie are getting into the MAFS spirit, with Fitzy dishing some piping hot tea during their January 31 broadcast.

“I got a message from a friend who is the father of one of the girls that’s on the show. He’s very concerned,” the long-time radio host explained.

“He texted me and said ‘Mate I heard you guys talk about this show quite a bit. As a family, we’re really worried about what’s going to happen over the next few months.’”

And we don’t know about you, but this sounds like someone’s been a bit of a sh*t during MAFS and is worried about how it’s going to play out on-screen…

Radio host reams Married at First Sight stars for going on TV for the wrong reasons

Fitzy — who found fame on Big Brother back in the day — then clarified that he doesn’t know the bride in question personally, only her father.

The radio host said the MAFS dad-to-be added: “We heard you talk about it quite a bit on your show. Can you just look after her?”

However, Wippa (who also appeared on reality TV on Celebrity Apprentice) was having NONE of it and absolutely reamed the bride and her co-stars.

“The bigger concern for any individual going on a show like this is the fact that they’ve gone on the show not with the idea of finding love. Not one person has gone on this show in the hope of actually finding someone,” he slammed.

“You’re going on the show for fun, and something interesting to do in your life, and the possibility of becoming famous. THAT’S why you’ve gone on the show.” Boom!

Who is the Married at First Sight bride whose father contacted Fitzy?

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunate for her), Fitzy kept the name of the MAFS bride under lock and key.

However, we do have our theory on which participant’s father got in touch with Fitzy.

Now, Eden Harper may live on the sunny Gold Coast, but she hails from Adelaide, where her dad is a longtime Adelaide Crows Football Club employee.

For 27 years, Phil Harper has worked in various roles as an official and manager. Today, he’s currently the Head of Women’s Football at the club.

Connecting the dots, Fitzy used to play AFL for the Adelaide Crows in 2002 after being traded from Sydney Swans. As such, it wouldn’t seem so outlandish that he and Phil are mates.

Coincidence? We think not!
