It wouldn’t be a season of Married at First Sight Australia without a contestant doing a runner, and 2024 groom Simon Flocco did just that in record time.
Per his official bio, the marketing manager was married throughout most of his twenties. However, before his 30th birthday, he realised he couldn’t keep living a lie and came out as gay.

Since his divorce, he’s been in a seven-year “situation-ship” but nothing has come of it, leading him to turn to the experts to help him find the man of his dreams.
However, Simon made headlines when he QUIT the show at the eleventh hour, telling Daily Mail Australia that MAFS wasn’t “what [he] thought [he] wanted at this point in [his] life”.
His departure from the show threw a spanner in the same-sex storyline. However, we have an inkling this will be remedied down the track…
Simon Flocco REFUSED to hand over his Instagram login after QUITTING Married at First Sight 2024
Contestants in the marriage experiment are expected to hand over their social media accounts to producers while the show is airing.
However, Simon reportedly refused to hand over his Instagram log-in to producers after he was Photoshopped into the cast announcement.
After quitting the show, Simon assumed he wouldn’t be featured at all, so seeing his picture in the cast line-up “was a real shocker”.
“Why am I even in the line-up? I suppose they’d do anything for ratings, right?” he savagely told Daily Mail Australia. Yikes.
