A huge spoiler for Married at First Sight Australia 2024 has cropped up on social media after one groom shared he was “backstabbed” on set.

The 11th season of the infamous marriage experiment won’t kick off until January 29, but that hasn’t stopped several participants from going rogue in the weeks preceding its premiere.

Per Yahoo! Lifestyle, a former cast member revealed in a since-deleted Instagram comment that his “boy” is one of the new grooms.

The groom (who was not identified by the outlet) reportedly told his mate that he was “horrified and saddened with his time on the show”.

Apparently, the soon-to-be reality star felt that he was “railroaded, set up and backstabbed by producers and the experts”.

Sounds like they’ve never watched MAFS or the fallout that comes from it!

According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, the comment insinuated that the groom’s marriage doesn’t go the distance and that he is certainly not fond of his time in the experiment.

The former MAFS star added that he has hope that his friend’s edit “isn’t too rough”. He also described him as “one of the nicest, kindest, friendliest blokes I’ve met”.

Hmm, call us cynical but this sounds like some preemptive damage control…

Channel Nine calls ’emergency meeting’ to combat rogue Married at First Sight 2024 contestants

This spoiler comes after it was revealed that Nine executives had to call an “emergency meeting” after one couple threatened to “ruin the whole show” by publicly debuting their relationship on the Gold Coast in December.

Other contestants were found out to have also had a “secret party”, which reportedly goes against their contracts.

“The producers’ threats to put a stop to their blue ticks, access to professional photos and TV and radio interviews haven’t worked with these couples, and Nine will look at coming up with a new plan in the coming weeks,” a source dished to Yahoo! Lifestyle.

While “no one has been sued yet” for breaching contracts, it isn’t off the table.

“As control is getting harder to manage maybe all it will take is one person to be made an example out of.”
