Better Homes and Gardens just became even more iconic after adding My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge to its lineup.

Just when we thought the Irish-born chef couldn’t add any more notches to his belt, Channel 7 announced on January 14 that Colin would fill the gap left by long-time star Ed Halmagyi following his departure in 2023.

In a statement shared via the network, Colin said working on Better Homes and Gardens “really feels like coming home”.

“I’ve been friends with Johanna [Griggs] ever since I started at Channel 7, and the rest of the cast and I get on like a house on fire,” he said.

“I can’t wait to get out on the road and travel around this beautiful country, cooking with some of the best and freshest produce in the world.

“I’ll be bringing my passion, humour and cheeky Irish flair as I whip up my favourite simple, quick and affordable recipes that everyone can make and enjoy at home.”

The show’s executive producer, Russell Palmer, added that he’s stoked to welcome Colin to the series — which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year — and embark on “an exciting new chapter”.

“He’s a talented and well-respected chef and brings his own charm and innovation, which is sure to inspire our audience,” he said.

The 50-year-old chef and media personality joins Johanna, Charlie Albone, Adam Dovile and Juliet Love in Better Homes and Gardens’ starring team.
