My Kitchen Rules Australia judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge have revealed they used to “hate [each other’s] guts” as they aired out their former feud on TV.
The duo confirmed rumours of a private stoush during the September 20 episode of the cooking series while they dined at Amber and Mel‘s “Salty Secrets” home restaurant.
“Do you want to hear about salty secrets from us?” Manu asked the cast.
“The salty secret is Colin and I started on the wrong foot,” he confessed to the teams. “Because when I started TV, most chefs in the industry thought I’d sold my soul.”
“I said he’d sold out,” Colin added.
“They said I was no longer a chef, I was a TV celebrity,” Manu explained. It was then that he revealed he was shocked that he was told Colin would be his co-host on MKR.
“I got told, ‘Oh we’re going to bring in a new chef — Colin Fassnidge.’ And I went, ‘What?! The guy hates my guts and I hate his guts’.” LOL.
Colin said he was just as shook when he turned up on set and was asked whether he and Manu had met yet.
“I was like, ‘Sh*t’,” he admitted. “We did the season. It was a tough learning curve for me.”
However, things soon turned around for the pair, who settled their differences behind the scenes.
“So we finished the show, I went into my room, he went into his. And suddenly I heard [knocks on table], open my room and he went ‘I would like to apologise for being an a*shole,” Manu recalled.
“And we’ve been good friends ever since!”
At least there’s no love lost, which we can’t say the same for some of the teams…
