Real Housewives of Sydney‘s Dr Kate Adams has hit back at critics who don’t think she deserves to be on the show because she isn’t a traditional “housewife”.

Out of the Binge series reboot’s cast, Kate is the only woman who hasn’t been married, nor does she have children.

As such, some fans — and some of her co-stars — don’t think she is worthy of the title “housewife”.

Now, in an appearance on The Morning Show, the veterinarian said she believes the show has evolved from its OG seasons to be inclusive of women who are “successful in their own right”.

“It started out in the early 2000s, it was very much housewives, and as society has changed, so have the franchises,” she explained.

“And around the world, there are now lots of unmarried, childless women on the show, including myself.”

The 41-year-old continued: “It’s probably the biggest question I get asked. ‘How are you a housewife?’

“My answer is, ‘I have a house, I have animals, I have children – they just have fun!'”

Dr Kate Adams reveals whether she’ll return to Real Housewives of Sydney

Despite the beef on Real Housewives of Sydney, Kate told TV Reload podcast host Benjamin Norris that she’d do it all over again.

Kate also dished on the future of the show, given the huge divide between the cast.

“When alliances start to form, the show starts to not work. You see that in Season One fairly clearly,” she explained.

“Everyone says that someone is a sh*t. I’m like it’s Housewives, we are not going to sit around and have a cup of tea.”

And who’d want to watch that anyway?!
