Big Brother VIP star Caitlyn Jenner has doubled down on her use of an ableist slur, despite copping backlash from fans.

Caitlyn, who appeared on the celebrity edition of Big Brother Australia in 2021, went viral on X (formally known as Twitter) on November 16 when replying to a Tweet by Donald Trump Jr, who complained about the word “r*tarded” not being used as commonly as it was in the past.

“I know you’re not allowed to use the R-word that was a big part of our vernacular growing up if you’re my age, but there has to be exceptions, right???” he wrote while condemning President Joe Biden‘s allocation of national funding.

In response, Caitlyn declared she has no qualms about using the slur — or misspelling it.

“I’ll say it R*TARTED [sic]!”

After X users pointed out the former Keeping Up With The Kardashian star’s obvious typo, Caitlyn corrected herself.

“Excuse me… R*TARDED,” she penned before adding: “Omg I immediately respelled it properly in the comments. epic ironic fail, I get it.”

Despite the amendment, netizens roasted the 74-year-old.

“Learn how to spell it first, maybe?” one user wrote. Meanwhile, another commented, “The jokes really do write themselves.”

A third penned: “Uh-oh Caitlyn is thirsty for love & attention. She’s posting non stop & trying to be as controversial as she can.”

Caitlyn Jenner uses R-word slur AGAIN while calling out the media

After Caitlyn’s use of the R-word on social media, US outlet Page Six reported that the former Olympian was “proud” of herself for utilising the ableist slur.

Caitlyn later scolded the outlet for focusing on her gaffe rather than reporting on bigger issues at hand.

“It’s R*TARDED that the Biden admin frees up another $10 BILLION to IRAN! And losers at @PageSix go on to lecture me about how offensive the word is,” she wrote on X on November 17.

“GET THE HELL OVER IT. How about focusing on how dangerous and R*TARDED freeing up $10 BILLION to Iran is.”

Caitlyn also alleged she was denied a right of reply after Page Six published their story four minutes before contacting her for comment via email.

The Special Olympics has since condemned the athlete for her repeated use of the slur online.

“Words matter. Do better, Ms. Jenner,” the sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities said in a statement to Page Six.

“Special Olympics has worked tirelessly to eradicate the use of the R-word, and your repeated use of it is being seen by millions of your social media followers.”
