Caitlyn Jenner has caused significant controversy online after attacking content creator Dylan Mulvaney for being open about her experience as a transgender woman.

Dylan is a beloved TikTok star who documents her life in her candid video series “Days of Girlhood”. The 25-year-old quickly climbed in popularity in 2022 and now has more than 8 million TikTok followers.

Most recently, her steady rise in online fame offered her the opportunity to discuss gender-affirming healthcare with President Joe Biden at the White House.

Her much-needed discussion about trans rights with the POTUS placed Dylan further into the public eye, which sparked a barrage of blatant transphobia from right-wing activists, including Caitlyn Jenner.

While the Big Brother VIP Australia star identifies as a transgender woman, she has been heavily criticised for her stance against various LGBTQIA+ issues over the years.

Caitlyn is best known for her sporting achievements, as well as being the ex-spouse of Kris Jenner and the parent of Kylie and Kendall Jenner, along with being a parental figure to the Kardashians.

What were the Transphobic Comments that Caitlyn Jenner About Dylan Mulvaney?

After Dylan’s NowThis interview with President Biden, Senator Marsha Blackburn shared a TikTok video of Dylan discussing the need for acceptance of transgender bodies.

“Radical left-wing lunatics want to normalise this absurdity,” the transphobic politician wrote.

Caitlyn quote-tweeted the post, thanking the right-wing Senator for “speaking out and having a backbone”.

“Let’s not ‘normalise’ any of what this person [Dylan] is doing. This is absurdity!” Caitlyn wrote.

In another tweet (that we won’t be sharing), Caitlyn actively misgendered Dylan.

She later shared an article from the New York Post about her comments, adding: “There is a difference between acceptance and tolerance.

“Normalising exposing your genitals in a public way and a public place. I do not support that at all, in the slightest,” she said.

In the video, Dylan had been discussing how she was being starred at in public because her “bulge” showed in the shorts she was wearing. At no point did she “expose” her “genitals”, as Caitlyn claimed.

Dylan Mulvaney Publicly Addresses Caitlyn Jenner’s Transphobic Comments

Dylan addressed Caitlyn’s transphobic comments with a classy, intellectual response — which, honestly, is way more than she deserved.

On October 30, Dylan posted her day 233 video, prefacing that it would be a direct message to Caitlyn and noting they were “two of the most privileged trans women in America at the moment”.

“I automatically have a lot of respect for you as a fellow trans woman. But then you decided to ridicule me very publicly,” Dylan said.

“The way you use your platform to publicly degrade me, it told me everything I needed to know about you. A trans person invalidating another trans person’s trans-ness is pretty evil, in my eyes,” she continued.

“I didn’t start ‘Days of Girlhood’ because being a woman sounded fun. I started this series because of the unspoken shame of being newly trans,” she continued, before explaining that Caitlyn was much further along in her “journey”.

Dylan Mulvaney Addresses Caitlyn Jenner’s Comments About Her Having a “Penis”

Dylan also addressed the issues around Caitlyn repeatedly commenting on their genitals.

“I’m so happy that you’ve had the surgeries that you have desired. But I’m 25 years old and I’m on day 233, I can’t even get bottom surgery now if I wanted to. I haven’t been on hormones long enough,” she said.

“There are so many trans women who don’t have access to it or they don’t want it and it doesn’t make them any less of a woman.”

Dylan shared her concern that Caitlyn was “accepted” by a “group of people” who don’t have her “best interests at heart”.

“Nearly every day this week, I have been called a ‘freak, a child predator, an absurdity’. I am not of those things that your cohorts are painting me to be. My question for you is, ‘don’t you feel a little lonely over there?’,” she said.

Dylan also urged her followers to not send hate or misgender Caitlyn, as they knew how “difficult it is” to be transgender and in the public eye.

“You have personally subjected me to thousands and thousands of hateful lies. A number of which could very well want to hurt me. That’s how much power you have,” Dylan said.

“You were Woman of the Year. This is not Woman of the Year behaviour.”
