Love Island Australia 2019‘s Matt Zukowski has opened up about the silver lining that has followed his infertility diagnosis.

In 2021, the reality TV beau revealed on his Where’s Your Head At? podcast that he underwent fertility testing after his ex-girlfriend and The Bachelor star Keira Maguire told him the “consistency of his sperm” was “weird”.

“The doctor called me and said, “Look, Matt, I was going to call you in but I’ll do it over the phone, you have no sperm,’” he said.

Matt initially thought the doctor meant he had “low sperm”. However, it was confirmed that he had “no sperm” whatsoever.

Nearly two years on, the 28-year-old has confessed on the Back To Reality podcast that he finds solace in the fact his story can help others facing a similar condition.

“Just the other day, a woman came up to me and said, ‘My partner and I are going through IVF, my husband is infertile and he’s listened to your episode and it makes him feel like he’s not alone’,” he recalled.

“It was really moving to hear that.”

Despite the “card [he’s] been dealt”, Matt said he still has dreams of being a father.

“I’ve always wanted a son of my own to raise, but hopefully one day, there’s options out there,” he said.

The candid confession comes after Matt confirmed his relationship with influencer Tammy Hembrow, who already has three children from past relationships.
