The Masked Singer Australia 2023‘s Amy Sheppard, a.k.a Orca, has revealed an interesting secret about the show.
The most important part of the kooky singing show is the big reveal, where fans finally discover whether they were able to guess which celeb was belting out bangers behind their mask.
And on October 25, Amy, who was recently unmasked on the show, told Yahoo! Lifestyle a little secret about the reveal process.
According to the singer, the celebs don’t actually remove their masks in front of the live audience because it “ruins the surprise”.
“So you just pretend [to take off the mask] and then you go back[stage],” she explained.
“Then, if you’re actually eliminated, you come back on and it’s just the judges and there’s no live audience and that’s when you film the reveal.” And colour us shook!
Host Osher Günsberg previously told Yahoo! Lifestyle that the show goes to extreme lengths to make sure everyone’s identities remain hidden. So this makes sense!
Amy then confessed that her mask needed to be “cut off” during her reveal.
“I had two security people from costume come in and help me take it off because it was quite a heavy costume,” she dished. And sounds tough being an Orca!
