I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2024 is copping a huge change at the request of its new co-host, Robert Irwin.

After weeks of speculation, Channel Ten finally confirmed that Aussie conservationist will replace Dr Chris Brown as Julia Morris‘ co-host on the celebrity jungle series in the New Year.

However, it’s been revealed that Robert’s involvement was only guaranteed on the condition that the show be done differently moving forward.

Given his life’s work with animals, it’s no surprise that the 19-year-old had some qualms about the tucker trials, in which the celebrity campmates feast on all sorts of animals and their innards.

Appearing on The Project on October 24, Robert said I’m a Celebrity will be moving away from these challenges next season.

“Can I say something very interesting? This is one of the reasons why I was so excited to join the show,” he started.

I’m A Celebrity have vowed to cease all use of wildlife in the show. The entire consumptive use of wildlife is done.”

Never fret — we will still be privy to the celebs snacking on all sorts.

“All the eating trials still continue, but it’s with sustainably farmed animals,” Rob insisted.

“They’ve got all bags to eat!” Julia added. LOL!

Wildlife conservation will be at the forefront of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2024

Robert noted that he’s wanted to join I’m a Celebrity ever since he and his sister Bindi made a cameo appearance.

However, the promise that animals would be protected in the process was imperative.

“It’s a very important thing for me,” he confessed.

“And I’m very proud of what we’re doing together to really hit home and lead by example with wildlife conservation in this new season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.”

Ensuring wildlife conservation isn’t the only win for Robert in his new gig. It was recently reported that the young gun is pocketing around $430,000 for his six-week stint in the South African jungle.
