We’ve got some intel on why The Block 2023‘s Kristy and Brett Beams have been behaving so badly on the show and it kinda makes sense.
From intentionally messing with Steph Ottavio to accusing Eliza and Liberty Paschke of receiving “special treatment“, the controversial couple have caused nothing short of a ruckus.
And as revealed in episode 320 of the So Dramatic! podcast, these villains joined the show to wreak havoc.
“Their edit on The Block is accurate. But what people don’t realise is that Kristy and Brett went in with a game plan to stir things up and mess with people,” one source told So Dramatic!.
They dished that Kristy, 34, is “ultra-competitive”, which is why she had “no issues” creating drama and doing anything she could to “get an advantage”.
However, our source confirmed that the pair aren’t “bad people”, they just went in with a mismatched game plan.
“They haven’t watched much of The Block before. They went in with an approach that fits in with other reality shows but is completely foreign to The Block, so they stand out,” they explained.
When it comes to the backlash from fans, Kristy and Brett “aren’t phased”.
“Kristy’s dealing with the backlash fine. She’s not too phased with what the public thinks of her.” And at least she owns it!
The Block’s Eliza and Liberty Paschke are accused of ‘playing the sympathy card’
Our source also accused Eliza and Liberty of “playing the sympathy card” and we don’t know how we feel about this one.
“Kristy has said herself in justifying her actions that it’s a game,” they said. “Meanwhile, the sisters know exactly what they’re doing. They’re playing the sympathy card and squeezing that sponge for all it’s worth.”
Meanwhile, they said that Eliza, who’s worked in the media for over 10 years, “knows how this stuff works”.
“It’s all about image and their after-show prospects,” they added. And ouch, that’s gotta hurt.
