The Block 2023‘s Leah and Ash Milton have revealed why they’re no longer friends with Kristy and Brett Beams.

ICYMI: Things have been rocky between the two teams after Kristy accused Liberty and Eliza Paschke of receiving “special treatment” from production.

Despite reports that the former friends had “realigned“, the couple told Woman’s Day that this was far from true.

“We’re non-existent to them now,” Leah dished. “It was almost a one-sided friendship. It’s constantly been me trying to say, ‘Hey, I just want you guys to say sorry to [Eliza and Liberty].'”

She then explained that she refused to let Kristy get away with “hurting” the sister-duo.

“It didn’t sit right with me,” the 31-year-old said. “If I didn’t stand up for the girls, then what does that say about my friendship with them… I would’ve stood up for anyone.”

The couple also admitted Kristy and Brett took things too far when they concocted “conspiracy theories” about Eliza.

“It would’ve been nice if they took this as an opportunity to reflect and own it. They didn’t,” Leah finished.

The Block’s Ash Milton fears being a bad role model to his children

Ash also explained that he distanced himself from Kristy and Brett after realising he was being a bad role model to his kids.

“A big thing for me was that our boy watches this show and I didn’t want him to see me on there setting a bad example,” the 37-year-old explained.

“At the end of the day, we called out [bad behaviour] and it’s fractured things. We never wanted them to be like that… their attitude is like, ‘We don’t even need this, let’s just go home,’ and we were getting categorised in that.”
