The Block 2023 fans reckon they’ve figured out how to save the renovation series after ratings took a plunge amidst complaints of “toxic” on-screen behaviour.

Despite being dubbed one of Australia’s favourite reality programs, the show has lost 20 per cent of its viewership, reports The Daily Telegraph.

However, one fan of the show took to Reddit to propose an idea for a “positive PR spin-off”. And it’s brilliant!

To resolve the current “PR nightmare“, the viewer suggested that Nine should produce a spinoff show where fan-favourite contestants “renovate community and charity spaces with regular sponsors funding the projects.”

However, instead of being filled with drama, this new series should feature a “Queer Eye heartwarming kind of spin”.

The series would still be “competitive” and would also run for “a month or two”, so the cast would have time to “do [up] the space from top to bottom”. And this sounds great!

The Block fan says teams should be judged on ‘accessibility’

According to the Reddit user, the teams should also be judged on “accessibility”, “style”, and how “appropriate” their renos are for the community.

“I’d love to see contestants engage with the community and [work towards] their needs,” they dished.

“It’d highlight issues within the community that deserve more attention, as well as being a fun silly reno show.” And we’d love to watch this!

This comes after viewers reported The Block for showcasing “bullying” and “disturbing” behaviour.
