The Block 2023 fans suspect the show is rigged after the judges were blasted for giving the contestants “inconsistent” feedback.
During the room reveals in the August 20 episode, couple Steph and Gian Ottavio won the best room, despite their studio being a “sad beige guest bedroom”.
Fans of the show took to Reddit to conclude that the dodgy judging was due to “favouritism”.

“The judges this year are driving me crazy,” one user wrote. “They don’t hold each house to the same expectations and contradict themselves at every turn.”
They also pointed out that the judges never docked any points for Steph and Gian’s “lack of amenities”, despite not holding other houses to the same standard.
Another user stated that the scores were “whack”, whilst a third said the judges pick certain winners to “add to the drama”.
A fourth viewer believed that “inconsistent judging happens every year”.

“It’s unfair and annoying to watch. I guess they need to make sure every couple can get at least one win under their belt,” they added.
Surprisingly, viewers thought Eliza and Liberty Paschke’s house should’ve won, despite judge Marty Fox claiming that he’d have “been happier” if the room was “left empty”.
The Block fans reckon the judges were spot on with their feedback
However, other fans thought that the judges were “on point” with their feedback.
“The right team won IMO,” one user penned, stating that they agreed with “90% of the things the judges said”.

Another user shared that whilst they usually disagree with the judges, they “could see the points they made about each house.”
“House Five looked terrible. Honestly looked like a cheap motel room. I thought [the] judges feedback was pretty on point,” a third added, whilst a fourth agreed that “the styling was not what you’d expect in a multimillion-dollar house.”
