Below Deck Down Under’s Laura Bileskalne has accused the show of “manipulating” her narrative after she was fired for sexual misconduct.

During episodes 6 and 7, Laura made moves on her co-star Adam Kodra without his consent and was later sacked for not “respecting other people’s boundaries”.

Then on August 13, the former second stew took to Instagram to address the situation, telling her followers that things weren’t as they seemed on screen.

“What we’re witnessing is harassment being defended by harassment…people [are being] influenced by what’s been fed to them,” she wrote on her Story.

The 31-year-old then explained that the show portrayed “a condensed version of events”, reminding viewers that what they saw on screen didn’t “reflect the entirety of a person’s character or intentions”.

“It’s crucial to separate the character portrayed on television to the real person behind the scenes,” she continued.

“It’s disheartening to be subjected to negative judgements and assumptions based on limited footage.”

But TBH, we don’t think blaming the edit is gonna save her this time…

Below Deck Down Under’s Laura Bileskalne says her portrayal wasn’t an ‘accurate reflection of reality’

The reality star then went on to say that she “strived to be authentic and genuine” throughout her time on the show.

She also found it “unfortunate” that “certain events and interactions [were] sensationalised and manipulated to fit a particular narrative.”

“I understand that reality TV offers entertainment value, but it’s essential to remember that it’s not always an accurate reflection of reality itself,” she added.

Ummm is she forgetting we all watched the show? Some things just can’t be misconstrued…

In a separate Story, Laura thanked her fans for letting her be true to herself “even when it’d be easier not to”.

Laura Bileskalne victim blames co-star Margot Sisson

Laura added even more fuel to the fire when she victim-blamed her co-star Margot Sisson.

After a drunken crew night out, Bosun Luke Jones entered Margot’s room fully naked and climbed into her bed without her consent while she was unconscious, which later resulted in his employment being terminated.

However, Laura later surprisingly defended his actions on her Instagram Story.

“Don’t make up a predator from someone who gave a HUG to a girl who willingly kissed [you] 25 minutes ago,” she wrote. And maybe she needs to look up her definition of “willingly” cos someone who is unconscious sure ain’t it…

In a second Story, Laura continued to defend Luke, stating that she’d remain “loyal” to him.

“[I never] stand up for what’s wrong,” she wrote, tagging #hatersgonnahate.

Laura continues to defend herself amid backlash

In subsequent Stories, Laura continued to defend herself.

One viewer replied to her Story by saying, “Smart people will understand everything”, to which she responded: “No worries. People will get it one day.”

And is everyone watching the same show as us?

Laura also told another fan that she knows “what’s right or wrong” and we’re not too sure about that…

Why was Laura Bileskalne fired from Below Deck Down Under?

Laura was fired after she repeatedly made moves on an uncomfortable Adam Kodra.

She first came onto him in the hot tub and, despite his refusal, later climbed into his bed to attempt to give him a massage.

However, things went from bad to worse when she learned Luke had been fired.

“I’m so sad, I can’t believe Luke is gone,” she fumed. “If he comes naked in my cabin, I’d be like, ‘Hello! Yes!’

In a later conversation with Margot, she suggested that his firing was “unfair”.

“I think he just meant it as a joke, he’s a funny guy. I don’t think he meant anything bad. He wouldn’t rape you or anything.”

After having the conversation relayed to him, Captain Jason Chambers let Laura go for being inappropriate and not respecting people’s “boundaries”.
