A Million Dollar Island Australia 2023 contestant has alleged one of their co-stars was “spiked” while filming the adventure series.

The Channel Seven show has already been exposed for a number of eyebrow-raising incidents, including the set being a full-on root fest and one contestant considering legal action after they were “badly injured”.

In episode 307 of the So Dramatic! podcast, further secrets have been revealed after several insiders spilled the beans.

According to one cast member, the drink spiking involved a “young woman who had just turned 18”.

“[She] had her drink spiked and was found back at the hotel completely out of it,” they explained. “She didn’t know how she got back to the hotel and couldn’t remember the last six hours.”

Understandably, the contestant was “really upset” the following day and confided in producers about it.

“But they were really awful to her,” the source alleged. “They tried to make her shut up and not speak about it.

“They even threatened her with ramifications if she did.”

Million Dollar Island Australia contestant outed for homophobic comments

On top of the drink-spiking debacle, the insider said one Million Dollar Island contestant was particularly homophobic towards another co-star.

“This contestant told another contestant (who was a lesbian), that they weren’t a lesbian, they just hadn’t met the right man,” they recalled.

They made repeated highly offensive and shaming comments of that agenda to them throughout filming.”

The new allegations come after one source said “everyone was hooking up with everyone” while the show was in production.

“After contestants were evicted, they stayed at the hotel back in Langkawi [Malaysia] for a few nights,” they explained. “Some even stayed as long as a week.

“During this time, there were parties galore on the island. It was debaucherous.”

They added: “Everyone would go to the clubs and contestants were hooking up with cameramen, chaperones and producers.”

Aye, aye, aye!
