Married at First Sight Australia 2020‘s Hayley Vernon has responded to her co-star Seb Guilhaus‘ arrest over drug trafficking charges.
Seb is currently behind bars on remand after his Adelaide home was raided by Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives on July 28, reports The Advertiser.
During the raid, police allegedly seized approximately 870g of methamphetamine, believed to have a street value of around $90,000.
Later that day, the 35-year-old appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court where he was charged with one count of trafficking in a commercial quantity of methamphetamine.
Hayley Vernon defends Seb Guilhaus after his arrest
On July 30, Hayley stated that she couldn’t comment on the arrest, however, she knew Seb was “struggling with his mental health”.
“Seb was gravitating towards me to help and guide him. I just wish I’d have known what was actually going on so I could’ve helped him,” she wrote to her Instagram Story.
The 35-year-old explained that she’d put up an Instagram post on July 29 asking if anyone had seen Seb, as she was worried that he’d “been out partying”.
She’d also shared that they’d been drinking mocktails together just two hours before his arrest.
The duo recently announced that they’d been filming some spicy content together for OnlyFans.
However, Hayley expressed that this collaboration had put a target on her back.
“Now I’ll wait for the absolute onslaught from the media between me [and him],” she wrote, stating that she’d prepared her friends and family for the potential backlash she’d be facing.

The former TV bride continued to defend her co-star on her Instagram Story, stating that she was “losing her sh*t” over some of the comments she was receiving.
“Whoever is f*cking messaging me saying ‘He’s a meth head, it takes one to know one.’ None of you are his friends.
“Plenty of bad people go to church and plenty of good people get caught up in drugs. Seb isn’t a bad person. [He’s] a f*cking great person.”
Hayley then said she’d stand by Seb “through thick and thin”.
“I won’t kick a man when he’s down and I won’t allow anyone else to kick him while he’s down either,” she finished.
