Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Lyndall Grace has admitted that she has an issue with the way Jesse Burford speaks about his on-screen wife Claire Nomarhas.
ICYMI: Claire cheated on Jesse during the marriage experiment and the two have had a frosty relationship since filming wrapped. Jesse also revealed that the pair hadn’t spoken since their ‘wedding’ aired on TV.
And during an Instagram Q&A on July 25, the singer took to social media to defend both of her co-stars.
When asked how she felt about Jesse speaking so openly about Claire, the 28-year-old admitted that she had mixed feelings.
“I do have a problem with the [way Jesse] talks about Claire, but I don’t want to invalidate his experience,” she started.
“I think that part of it is displaced anger. He’s probably still angry at Claire and at [Channel Nine] and the edit and having to relive that experience with [Claire]. So I think she’ll always be a symbol of pain for him,” she explained.
The reality star also expressed that Jesse can be misunderstood as he doesn’t always find the right words to say.
“If we pick at semantics, people don’t feel safe speaking about how they feel…which doesn’t get anyone anywhere,” she clarified.
Lyndall then explained that despite being a huge character, Jesse can also be vulnerable.
“I’ve seen him feel so isolated and unsafe to speak about how he feels. But we have this really beautiful friendship where we can talk freely without judgement,” she continued.
“It’s really hard for me to be mad at him … but I also love Claire so it’s hard.”
